KAPTURER is an electrical device all-in-one powered by solar energy, designed to provide electricity.

This system uses the boundless energy generated by the sun to power itself. It is designed to provide electricity in all situations and it has been set up to be compact, portable, expandable and upgradable.

We are introducing this All-in-One Solar Power System with a more independent and expandable integrated photovoltaic panel, together with various power versions (which can be directly selected by the user), suitable for daily or emergency use and accessible worldwide!

WHAT IS KAPTURER?

Kapturer is an autonomous, All-in-One Solar System powered by solar energy with an integrated modular photovoltaic panel.

OPERATION

The solar power system Kapturer is comprised of two main components: the electrical cabinet (with all the utilities and outputs for external connections) and a 20 W photovoltaic panel.
The exposure to sunlight allows the integrated PV panel – in its cabinet – to collect solar energy which is progressively stored in the internal rechargeable battery whose power capacity can be chosen by the user.

DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF POWER

Kapturer can support any power up to a maximum of 800 Wh by simply installing AA type rechargeable batteries of the power capacity required.

KAPTURER FOR EMERGENCY, AND DAILY USE… EVERYWHERE!

The product provides the right energy required in any case of emergency.
It prevents you from being left in the dark and it always gives you the possibility to get connected to a power source.
The use of Kapturer is simple and easy.
Just plug your appliance into one of the electrical sockets of Kapturer or place it facing the sun in order to recharge the internal batteries you have previously installed.
Thanks to Kapturer, everywhere, you can connect devices using 5 V – 12 V DC or 110 V – 220 V AC (60 Hz – 50 Hz), by simply plugging the appropriate electrical plugs into the unit.

ELECTRICAL OUTLETS

There are different outputs:

  • 2 x USB 5 V DC,
  • 2 x 110 V – 220 V AC (60 Hz – 50 Hz),
  • 1 x 12 V DC car cigarette lighter sockets, for diverse external devices to be connected.

CHARGING KAPTURER’S BATTERY

The internal batteries of Kapturer must be installed by the user.
The user can choose AA type rechargeable batteries up to a maximum of 800 Wh.
These batteries can be recharged in three different ways:

  • through the 12 V DC car cigarette lighter plug;
  • through Universal 110 V – 220 V AC (60 Hz – 50 Hz) wall outlet;
  • through integrated photovoltaic panel (and/or additional photovoltaic panels).

We recommend using rechargeable batteries of the same brand and the same type of battery packs (minimum 100 Wh each pack).

Each AA type rechargeable battery gives a voltage of 1.2 V at about 2000 mAh:

  • ten (n. 10) batteries give a power of about 24 Wh;
  • to reach 100 Wh, 40 batteries must be installed;
  • to reach the power of 800 Wh, 320 batteries must be installed.

SAFETY

Kapturer integrates safety systems, through electrical fuse wires, to prevent accidental damage both to the device and the user, and the fuses are compatible with both voltage standards 110 V / 220 V AC (60 Hz – 50 Hz).

USE

For the first time we have a stand-alone device useful in all situations!
Kapturer is particularly useful:

  • in case of power outages;
  • in emergency situations;
  • for thrill seekers;
  • to cut down the energy consumption;
  • in case of extreme circumstances (i.e. natural disasters etc..);
  • in a wide range of diverse situations: for domestic use, for free time activities: in a quiet campsite or in a picnic, etc..

Where can you use Kapturer? It is designed to be used everywhere, with no limits!

FEATURES

  • Expandability – Kapturer can expand its power through the internal batteries, whose power capacity can be chosen by the user, as well as through additional PV panels that can be connected to each other.

SUPPLY ENERGY

The system can capture energy from the sun and provide electricity to as many appliances as the maximum power capacity of the installed batteries allows.
For example, the appliances, that Kapturer is expected to provide energy to, are:

  • Mobile phones;
  • Smartphones;
  • Tablets;
  • Led lights;
  • Traditional light bulbs (Incandescent, halogen bulbs, etc..);
  • Portable Videogames;
  • Small Fans;
  • and much more!

DOMESTIC USE OF KAPTURER

Kapturer gives the possibility to open the solar panel through a set of hinges which can be blocked at an angle of about 90°.
In this way, Kapturer not only gives the user the possibility to charge the panel behind a window glass or a door to face the sun, but also provides a comfortable flat surface for your laptop!

WORLDWIDE POWER PROBLEMS

Currently, sudden interruptions of electricity supply happen quite frequently all over the world, while in some areas of the world power supply is even absent or not accessible to all.
Kapturer is especially designed to restore energy in such cases of emergency.

  • n°1 socket for connection to 110 V – 220 V AC (60 Hz – 50 Hz) to recharge the internal batteries installed by the user;
  • n°1 DC 12 V car cigarette lighter plug to recharge the internal batteries installed by the user;
  • n°1 socket for connections to the external solar panels Kapturer;
  • n°1 socket to connect any external batteries added by the user.

OUTPUTS

EXPANSION OF THE SYSTEM

Kapturer offers the possibility to connect external batteries in order to extend the operating life of any appliance the user wishes to use.
In this way each of the connected batteries will be charged and/or discharged at the same speed of the internal batteries installed by the user, since the extra batteries, in this case, will work as a unique system.

FUTURE PROJECTS

The product will be enhanced with – different design solutions – higher batteries power capacity, up to 800 W – waterproof versions – travel versions.

CONCLUSIONS AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

At first, Kapturer was built in three different power versions: 180 Wh, 470 Wh and 800 Wh.
The device ran with rechargeable lithium-ion batteries to achieve a higher performance.
However, in compliance with the International laws that – for safety – ban lithium-ion battery air shipments as hazardous and flammable material, we have revised the project and decided not to deliver the component equipped with batteries, which now, instead, must be chosen and installed by the user.
On the other hand, the user can choose rechargeable batteries whose power capacity best fits their needs.
